If a quiet and peaceful holiday is not on the agenda, then Kavos is the place to be. This is the party capital of Corfu and it is sure not to disappoint. This resort is completely packed full of bars and clubs and for the daytime, there are long white beaches complete with water sports. So during holidays to Corfu, you will discover a range of tavernas offering some delicious fresh food to try. Food here is fresh and exciting but the main thing about eating in Corfu is that it is a time to socialise. People on the Greek islands don’t like to rush their mealtimes. In fact, they draw them out and use them as a time to socialise with their families.

Transport in Corfu

To match the laid-back atmosphere of Corfu, the buses on the island are sometimes a little unpredictable. The timetables can suddenly change without notice so it’s always worth checking with a local before you begin your journey. A lot of visitors to the island prefer to rent a car in order to get around. But one of the most spectacular ways to see the island on your holidays in Corfu is by renting a motorised boat. This way, you can make the most of the cool breeze and the spectacular beaches as you zoom around the island.

Things not to miss in Corfu

Achillion Palace is an interesting spot. This building was built in 1890 and from here there is a spectacular view of the sea and of Corfu town. This building attracts a lot of tourists and with so many photo opportunities with the picturesque building and gardens, it’s easy to see why.

We all like to get a little snap happy with our cameras while we are on holiday and if you pay a visit to Kanoni, you will certainly be pushing that camera button more than usual. And that is because it is here where you will find two small islands. One of the islands houses the Monastery of Vlakhema and the other, which is known as Mouse Island, is home to a 13th century chapel. Mouse Island has a myth behind it and legend has it that this island is actually a ship turned to stone.
