Holidays to Ayia Napa

Are you ready to party?

Who says Ibiza is the party capital of Europe? Cyprus and Ayia Napa revels in splendid beaches by day and hypnotic beats by night. The town, so-named because of the Venetian-era monastery in the very square where the city's hottest clubs live, is at the eastern end of the southern coast of Cyprus. The waters are clear and warm, the people are hospitable and the nightlife is...well, how about you come and see it for yourself!

There are plenty of flights to Cyprus and transfers to Ayia Napa from the airport are regular so let Holiday Supermarket get you there with minimal fuss. We also have loads of excellent accommodation at the best prices available. Then we'll let you take care of the rest...

For sure the dance party culture means Ayia Napa holidays can be all about party hard, sleep, eat, do it all over again, but the beauty of Ayia Napa is its beaches and limitless sunshine which let the ardent adventurer also cut loose with water-skiing, windsurfing, canoeing, scuba diving and speed boating. You can enjoy the party scene and enjoy the outdoor life.

Sightseeing is also well catered to. The history buff can take to the small number of museums in the town and can lap up items of interest such as sculptures, engravings and ceramics at the Thalassa, the Municipal Museum of the Sea. Ancient sites include the Makronissos Tombs which can be found west of Ayia Napa village. They are an ancient burial site with some 19 tombs you can explore.

Hints and tips for your Ayia Napa holiday

Eating

Eating out in Ayia Napa - cheap, expensive and everything in between

There are a huge number of restaurants for you to enjoy on your Ayia Napa holidays - from cuisines the world over. Breakfast is particularly good, vegetarians are well-catered for and lovers of fresh seafood will be very happy.

The budget options - for a great meze plate, try Othello on Nissi Avenue opposite Moulin Rouge. Good Mexican can be had at Los Brandidos Mexican. For good local food try Limanaki Restaurant on the harbour - main meals start from €7.

Mid price options - there are plenty of Japanese and Polynesian restaurants on the harbour front and near the Square where prices start from €12. For a good selection of local foods like Afelia, Domades, halloumi and Keftedes try Abacus Restaurant - located at the start of Grecian Bay road, opposite the Museum.

Splurge - the restaurant getting all the attention at the moment - more for the good food than the 'splurge' prices - is Blueberries on Yuri Gagarin. It specializes in steak and seafood and does Cypriot favourites too.

Things not to miss

Ayia Napa - party, play, stay

Combine all the best things about holidays in Cyprus, Ayia Napa - music, party-life, sunshine and good food - all in an area famous for its beaches and friendly people.  Book your flights to Cyprus now and enjoy the friendly Cypriot hospitality, the nightlife and the many historic sites.

Makronissos Tombs - just to the west of the township lies the Makronnissos Tombs and they're a perfect early morning spot to indulge a thirst for history. The tombs are carved out of the solid rock and you get a feel for the ancient times as you let the early morning stillness wash over you.

Agia Napa Monastery - the ancient stone seemingly leeched of all moisture, the Moorish arches and the domed rooves all point to a Byzantine era building, but legend has it that Mary herself used a small church nearby to rest awhile on her travels.

The modern St. Mary's Church of Ayia Napa - if you've seen enough ruins or just want something a little different to feast your eyes upon, this is the place to see. The building itself is quite striking, but the real pleasures lie within - magnificent ceiling frescoes vie with the ornate woodwork, all set in a charming garden enclave.
