Cheap Holidays Abroad from Holiday Supermarket

My mind is a sieve. My brain is rubbish at retaining stuff. I don't want to think; I just want to do. Cheap package holidays, therefore, were invented solely for me. I just want to go; I don't want to get there and book this, pay for that, make sure I order this and that. Aah, cheap holidays, I owe you my life!

That said, you have to find the right one. Which is why the internet was invented. Come on down, Holiday Supermarket! Browse, select, pay, go. Can life truly be this simple? Well, yes.

Cheap all inclusive holidays are as simple as working out what you need (sun, family-friendly, party-'til-you-drop) and then finding the island/city/country/deal that suits. Cyprus, for example, is a big favourite with the sunshine and souvlaki crowd. But it is more than that. Book your package deal and then make time to venture out from the resort pool area in to the back country of Cyprus and you'll find quaint villages and a plethora of archaeological sites that are well worth hiring a taxi and packing a picnic lunch for. Indeed Cyprus served as a major British base during WWII and the vestiges can still be seen all over the island. Try to get into Nicosia proper if you can. Places like the Presidential Palace are quite spectacular and just wandering the back streets of Nicosia is a delightful way to spend a cloudy afternoon (especially when it's no good by the pool!)

Rhodes specialises in excellent cheap holidays. This beautiful island is in the eastern Aegean Sea and was once home to the Colossus of Rhodes, a wonder of the ancient world. Outside the city of Rhodes, the island is dotted with small villages and beach resorts, among them Faliraki, Lindos, Kremasti, Haraki, Pefkos and Archangelos. There's plenty to see and do in Rhodes (besides, beach, pool, restaurant, bed); venture into the old town of Rhodes and enjoy colourful old buildings dating back hundreds of years, beautiful little cantinas tucked away down side streets and lovely outdoor cafes. The castles and palaces of old Rhodes will also surprise you with their grandeur.

Do distant vistas beckon? How about Florida? Some excellent  and cheap all inclusive holidays exist in this part of the world and with the American penchant for quality buffets... the world is truly the all inclusive fan's oyster! Many packages will include theme park passes and you can upgrade/downgrade to the style of holiday that suits your family. There are even villa holidays that may suit, or you can settle in to a resort close to the Disney action and simply enjoy! The beaches in Florida are fabulous, but the hotel pool is all you really need in those off-days away from the parks. Taxis are inexpensive so you can venture further afield too and you'll find Florida is well geared to the tourism industry.

By far the most popular form of cheap package holiday is a cruise. These can take you around the Med or you can do the Caribbean. There's something very attractive about hauling your luggage on board and just sitting tight until journey's end. Almost every cruise is all inclusive and many will also offer a full meal package too. Almost all of the activities on board are included, even a Kid's Club (generally). All you do is purchase alcoholic drinks.

If you want something a little more exotic, go for an Alaskan cruise. This isn't a sit in the sun holiday it's a get out there and see the world vacation. It's not just for oldies either; you can couple your cruise package with photo safaris, kayaking adventures and a little bit of camping thrown in. Think outside the square and go for the interior with its majestic Mount McKinley and the lush wildlife of Denali National Park. You might even see some wild bears in their natural habitat! Now that's pretty cool.

Cheap holidays to Turkey can also be a dream come true for the package holiday enthusiast. Climb aboard a coach/hotel deal and explore the interior regions; journey to Pamukkale where you can bathe in hot spring pools and enjoy the natural lime deposit terraces amidst scenery unlike anywhere else in the world. Discover Goreme where churches were hollowed out of solid rock so early Christians could avoid Roman persecution.  Entire villages were built out of the rock and you get a sense of the life people lived as you make your way down winding halls, past wine cellars and through sleeping areas. If Goreme doesn't increase your sense of wonder in the world, kick yourself!

Spain has always been high on the list of cheap package holidays - essentially the concept was invented by the Spanish - and today the industry is at a point where you can get virtually any level of accommodation in virtually any destination. For cheap holidays to Spain the big kahuna is still Mallorca/Majorca and places like Puerto Pollensa offer amazing value. What was once a sleepy fishing village has everything - wonderful scenery, beautiful sandy beaches and a laid-back friendly atmosphere. The sheltered horseshoe shaped bay is set against the stunning backdrop of the Tramuntana mountain range. Balmy evenings are a specialty and wandering down past the marina, past your selected restaurant for the evening and on down to the elegant Illa D'Or hotel is one of life's great pleasures. You'll also find plenty of cheap holidays to Tenerife, if you fancy a good all-round destination.

Still in the Med, if you're after cheap last minute holidays try Kalamaki Zante in Greece. Pretty, quiet and deliberately few bars, Kalamaki is located on the end of the eastern side of the bay of Laganas. Kalamaki is a small and comfortable resort with one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The blue and white umbrellas dotting the bay welcome you down for a day of sun and an evening stroll around the area gives you a good look at nature.

Cheap holidays abroad are a great way to explore somewhere different whilst keeping an eye on the budget. Enjoy!
