Italy is the ideal holiday destination for short trips
According to an Italian tourist board representative, tourists looking for a short city break should consider the idea of visiting Italy.
Stefania Gatta, an official from the Italian State Tourist Board for the UK and Ireland, said that Italy is an ideal destination for the tourists who love wine and rich culture. The country is already well-known for both the above mentioned criterion.
British tourists are provided several options to choose from in order to spend their holidays in a splendid manner. Britons can enjoy the local wine or can also spend some quality time at the opera. Italy’s water bodies coupled with the vineyards are a hit among the tourists across the globe.
Italy is also ready with a calendar of events for the year 2010. The opening of Maxxi, museum of modern art in Rome, is one of the highlights of 2010. Michela Vittoria Brambilla has recently been appointed as the new Italian minister for tourism. Michela is all set to promote the Italian tourism by highlighting the next year “as a whole” next year. Ms. Gatta has also said that Italy will witness an improvement in the star rating of hotels.
According to Italy’s Ministry of tourism, around 3.5 million Britons visit the country each year for their holidays. The above statistics are evidence to the extreme popularity of Italy.
