Hong Kong Has Worlds Best Airport
Hong Kong International has been named the world’s best airport for the seventh time in a row at the 2008 Skytrax World Airport Awards ceremony.
This is only the tenth anniversary for the awards and Hong Kong has won seven times. This year travellers completed an amazing 8.2 million interviews.
Runner up airports were Singapore Changi, Seoul Incheon, Kuala Lumpur international and Munich airport.
Edward Plaisted, chief executive of Skytrax, an airline and airport quality advice organisation, said:
“Hong Kong international airport is winner of [the] world’s best airport title for the seventh time in ten years. To retain this title among such strong competition is clear testament to an airport that is satisfying its customers at the highest level, and demonstrating a true commitment to service excellence.”
For Southern Europe, Athens, Madrid Barajas and Istanbul were the top three airports. In the Australia / Pacific category, it was Brisbane, Auckland and Adelaide.
For North America, San Francisco took the top prize and for Africa, Cape Town was awarded best airport.
