Engaged holiday makers who are making a trip through Stockholm’s Arlanda airport during 2009 will be given the option to get married at a range of unusual and new locations.
During 2008 there were around five hundred and twenty couples who decided to tie the knot at Stockholm Airport, this was an increase of 6 percent when compared to the previous year, it is expected that this figure is set to rise further due to a large number of unique wedding venues being made available.
Loved up, betrothed customers on city breaks are going to get the chance to say their vows in the air traffic control tower and even on the wing of a jumbo jet at the Scandinavian airport.
Press Officer, Helena Miller, at Stockholm airport, said:
‘For couples who want to prioritise their honeymoon trip, a wedding at Stockholm Arlanda directly in conjunction with an air trip is a good solution. Couples getting married there receive the same service as royalty, Nobel laureates, rock stars, corporate executives, sports stars and presidents.’
The airport also offers a new VIP service which means that staff will look after couples every need, when looking after the holiday makers prior to their honeymoon flight.
VisitSweden has stated that several developments will be happening this winter, all of which are expected to boost the country’s tourism figures.
