San Francisco Latest Developments

Filed under: San Francisco — Tim @ 1:07 pm

A new ‘What’s New’ Guide for Autumn 2008 has been published by the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, which includes plenty of inspiration and information for travellers.

One of the highlights in the forthcoming attractions and events is the opening of the California Academy of Sciences on the 27th September.

The California Academy of Sciences is based in Golden Gate Park and includes attractions such as a planetarium, aquarium, natural history museum and other features combined under the one roof.

Also making its debut this month is the 74X-CultureBus, which started on the 20th September and will be driving the route from Golden Gate Park to downtown San Francisco, stopping at various cultural places along the way.

This month also celebrates the 75th anniversary of Coit Tower at the top of Telegraph Hill.

A busy period for San Francisco and holidaymakers in the next few months will be the Christmas festive season.  From the middle of November to January, San Francisco will light up its ‘path of gold’ light poles.  The lighting ceremony will be on the 18th November and be held in front of the Westfield San Francisco Centre.
