It is not always possible to plan a great weekend well in advance due to the busy routines everyone has to follow. However, this does not mean that you cannot enjoy a great short break away. Last minute holidays to Sorrento make excellent weekend getaways and can be booked within a few days without having to spend too much money.

Sorrento can fulfil the requirements of a peaceful and relaxing holiday with its sunny rocky coastlines and lush green hills. You do not really have to worry about not having something to do on your unplanned last minute holiday to Sorrento. This is because there are quite a few places to see while here:

Piazza Tasso
This is one place you cannot miss when in Sorrento as it is the heart of the city. It is also the most visited and crowded area with its bars, restaurants, horse carriage rides and a lot more.

Marina Grande
A short walk from Piazza Tasso will bring you to this small beautiful fishing village. It offers wonderful relaxation and is excellent for photographers. You can find fishermen going about their daily activities and watch a boat or two head into the water.

Amalfi Boat Trips
You can also take a boat ride along the Amalfi coast which connects to the cities of Capri, Sapri, Naples, Positano and others. This method of travelling is definitely faster than the bus and offers much more in the way of scenic beauty as well.

In addition to this, there are other places to visit on breaks to Sorrento. These include Herculaneum, Pompeii and Via del Capo.
