Holiday makers who are interested in film and the arts will be aware that it is the third year of the popular Capri Art Film Festival starting this year on April 22nd and runs until 25th April.

The festival holds significance as a cultural event on the current and economical issues of general interest displayed through the medium of art. The festival runs theatre, cinema, music and literature initiatives, which never fail to animate the island of Capri.

The festival is sponsored by Region Campania along with the District of Naples and the central theme for this year’s event is ‘diversity.’

The Capri Art Film Festival, six months before the event, had created the new Capri Movie Lab; this free laboratory is open to everyone to introduce people to the world of cinema, encouraging them to become writers and adopt their creative talents rather than just being a spectator. The new laboratory is provided as the final editing suit for a promotional spot or short film to be aired during the show.

Corto in Capri is holding a short film competition open to young film directors under 30 years old.

There will be musical theatre, live bands and film showings throughout the entire event.

This year’s festival is held at the Congress Palace of Capri and all events are open to holiday makers and the public and is completely free of charge.
