The Carnival of Corfu
The famous Carnival of Corfu has its roots in the Middle Ages when the Venetians conquerors of the island brought this custom back from their homeland. The Gossip is performed by a type of street theatre, where the actors sit in street windows watching looking at the Old Town alley whilst exchanging gossip in their local dialect.
