According to the Rhodes Tourist Board, the Greek island has the ‘cleanest beaches in the EU’ as it has won more Blue Flag Awards than any other island elsewhere.
The Greek island of Rhodes has been awarded Blue Flag status for a fantastic number of 33 beaches. The Blue Flag certifies the standard of the beaches cleanliness, safety, environmental standards and amenities.
Ten of the Blue Flags were awarded in beaches in Faliraki, two in Lardos and three in Ladiko.
At the moment there are over 3,000 Blue Flag beaches all over the globe and Greece is second in overall rankings as it has 424 beaches on the list. In first place is Spain which has 493 beaches on the list.
