Those taking holidays to Dubai this year will be able to take advantage of a new tourist information centre that opened recently in Dubai airport.
The bureau is part of an initiative from the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in order to ‘provide assistance to visitors in exploring the emirate during their business tours and leisure holidays’.
When travellers visit the tourist information centre they will be able to discover information on the different facilities Dubai has to offer as well as tourist attractions, regional events, entertainment, shopping and other topics of interest to those on holidays in the area.
This is not the only new tourist information centre as there are now six throughout the city including Wafi City, Ibn Battuta Mall and other places.
Dubai Airport also offers a car hire desk, hotels and a duty free shopping centre. The emirate has been subject to much renovation over the last couple of years, and is set to make Dubai a tourist destination for holidays and tourists all over the globe.
For travellers from the UK, flights to Dubai are available from airlines such as Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic.
Families seeking holiday deals in Dubai this summer could find their holidays much cheaper thanks to a new ‘kids go free’ promotion launched in the city this month.
The campaign began on the 1st July and is set to run until the 20th September this year, an idea produced by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and incorporating over 70 different attractions and properties around Dubai. Participating attractions offer free entry for children as part of the campaign for holidaymakers worldwide.
Atlantis The Palm is one of Dubai’s high profile resorts and is offering free entry for one child below the age of 16 when accompanied by a paying adult to the Lost Chamber, Dolphin Bay or Aqua Venture attractions.
Other locations included are the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, Dubai Mall and the Sega Republic.

Dubai is now considered as one of the many luxury city breaks available for Brits, but perhaps part of this can be attributed to the Keep Discovering Dubai tourism scheme that has recently drawn to a close.
According to the airline Emirates that is based in the city of Dubai, the Keep Discovering Dubai was a great success in raising the profile of the destination.
The campaign was set up in order to familiarise media and travel trade professionals with the city and over 2,400 industry people visited the city in under two months as a result of the scheme.
Emirates participated heavily in the campaign and said the campaign would ‘bolster and position Dubai as a first choice holiday and conference destination’.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of the airline, said: ‘The Keep Discovering Dubai campaign is a shining example of Dubai’s key players working together to drive and sustain a positive and lasting image of Dubai. The unique mix of nationalities hosted from across the world has helped Dubai further position itself globally as a leading holiday destination, an important step in retaining market share within the current environment.’
The Jumeirah Group, a Dubai-based hotel organisation has just launched a fabulous new promotion which they are offering to holiday makers with families, on a global scale. The new holiday promotion has been designed to provide holiday makers with children an opportunity to take advantage of staying in ’some of the most luxurious hotels in the world’.
The hotel group has launched this as ‘The Jumeirah Summer Days’ promotion, a fantastic new hotel scheme available to those taking a family holiday in London, New York and Dubai this year.

The cruise liner, Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas has just announced that it will continue sailing from the popular holiday destination of Dubai throughout 2011 after its inaugural season in the emirate in 2010.
The cruise liners’ 2011 holiday season is scheduled to comprise of exactly nine new itineraries including its sailings between January to March that are set to call at a large number of popular holiday spots across the Arabian Peninsula.
Holiday makers travelling with the Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas are going to visit Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Mina Sulman in Bahrain and Muscat, the capital city of Oman.
The cruise ship is also going to be operating around trip sailings to India which means that Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas will see maiden calls at Goa, Mumbai and Cochin.
Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas’ passengers are able to take advantage of several new shore excursions in the 2011 itinerary, some of which include off-road driving in the Dubai deserts, visiting a palace in Abu Dhabi and riding the Arabian horses in Bahrain.
Royal Caribbean has just signed up to a joint marketing partnership with the newest attraction to Dubai, Dubailand and they are set to boost their Middle Eastern profile in the next few years.
On 5th May, the World Travel Award for the leading holiday destination in the Middle East was given to Dubai.
The World Travel Awards 2009 for the Middle East was held at Monarch Dubai, representing the final conclusions of a 42,000 polling vote which was collected from voters this year.
Emirates picked up the award for the leading economy airline and their hotel Emaar’s The Address was voted as the best new hotel in the Middle East.
There were a number of other firms that are based in Abu Dhabi who picked up awards and Ethiad took the accolade for best airline in the Middle East with Saadiyat Island given an award for the region’s leading development project aimed at holiday makers.
Founder of the World Travel Awards, Graham Cooke recently commented on the recent award ceremony:

Frankfurt is set to be the new city break destination that is to benefit from a state of the art, five-star hotel from the Dubai hotel group, Jumeirah which sees the Dubai based holiday group launch their first hotel in Germany.
The new hotel is going to be part of a huge development known as PalaisQuartier leisure and retail which is set to boost the cities holiday and city break visitors along with providing business services for those who are holding business meetings in the city.
The Dubai hotel group Jumeirah also enjoyed a recent publicity boost which further heightened its public profile with holiday makers when it revealed its new Presidential Suite at New York City’s Essex House hotel.
Jumeirah Frankfurt is set to open in the centre of Frankfurt city in the area of Thurn-und-Taxis Platz during the summer of 2010 and will have 219 guest bedrooms, spas, restaurants and business facilities.
