Sports fans everywhere will be looking to take holidays in Europe this summer to coincide with the visit of the Formula One World Championships as it moves through Europe this year for the 2009 race season.
On the 12th July, the F1 will be racing at the Nurburgring in Germany and then moving to Budapest in Hungary for the 26th July. The Grand Prix of Europe will be visiting Valencia on the 23rd August and be the second F1 Grand Prix to be hosted in Spain this year, after Barcelona in May.
On the 30th August, Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit will be the recipient of the 12th Formula One World Championship before then moving to Monza in Italy for the 13th September race.
The 27th September will be one of the highlights of the F1 races this season when the night-race is held in Singapore, a great place for city breaks to be combined with the F1.

A new initiative has been launched by the oneworld airline alliance, which is offering free audio books to holidaymakers travelling through Brussels and Milan no matter which airline they fly with.
Those on holidays passing through or on direct holidays to Milan Malpensa and Brussels Zaventem airports will no doubt be pleased to download the free audio books. Each person can log onto the airport’s wireless internet connection with their laptop or smartphone and are able to download up to three free audio books from the audio book library.

The airline American Airlines is to due to service a number of their international routes with a brand new updated Boeing 757 during 2009, following a major overhaul of its entire fleet.
The airline carrier is currently going through the process of completely remodelling around eighteen of its massive 124 Boeing 757 fleet, which sees each plane receive improved cabin interiors, upgraded flight entertainment systems, new seats and many other additional facilities that will benefit holiday makers and business travellers.
Those city break passengers who flew with American Airlines on all their flight services from New York City JFK to Brussels on 7th May were the first people to experience American Airline’s new onboard services.
The refurbished 757s are to be provided on all Latin American and transatlantic services and it has been forecast that they will also be used on flight routes taking holiday and business travellers from New York City to Paris, Miami and Salvador in Brazil.
Vice President for onboard services on American Airlines, Lauri Curtis said: “American Airlines’ fleet of Boeing 757 international aircraft will be well-suited to serve select international routes following the refurbishment initiative.”

Anyone who plans to head for Brussels this year for a city break holiday, particularly if they are a lover of modern art, will be given the opportunity to visit a new state of the art museum which is situated in the Belgian capital.
The museum known as Magritte was named after the Rene Magritte, an internationally known surrealist artist from Belgium and the museum is to be opened in Place Royale in the centre of Brussels on 2nd June 2009.
When the museum opens this summer it will be possible for visitors to see over 170 artist works from Rene Magritte all under one roof which has never happened before.

Apart from providing a true global representation of various forms of jazz, from contemporary to traditional the festival celebrates other musical genres too, including rock, blues, swing, funk and more.
One of the festival’s new additions for 2009 includes European jazz at the Brussels stage and will feature shows by artists from France, Spain, Italy, Holland and other countries.
Anyone wanting to take a city break to Brussels can travel by Eurostar or fly with airlines including BMI, British Airways, Brussels Airlines and Flybe.
Tickets for Paris and Brussels are now available on board Eurostar trains and include tickets for metro and bus services both in Brussels and Paris.
This new provision for acquiring Eurostar tickets will allow holidaymakers to save time by avoiding lengthy queues which quite often build up at Brussels and Paris ticket booths.
Those people who are currently making use of the onward connections that would take them to other European cities will benefit from the speed of being able to change stations due to their already having purchased Eurostar tickets.
The idea of purchasing train tickets on board a Eurostar service is an initiative that follows the recent Visitor Oyster cards on Eurostar’s rail operator services to London city.
