Malaga HolidaysMalaga – a laid back hotspot

Malaga is famous for its glorious sunshine, beaches and bars. Relax in fine Spanish restaurants and bars or cross the border and wind your way up to the top of the famous Rock of Gibraltar. If its nightlife you’re seeking it is bursting with lively clubs and bars. Malaga, the birthplace of the artist Pablo Picasso offers museums, beautiful beach promenades, trips to cities such as Granada and Seville, culture full of art galleries and traditional bullfights. This old city boasts beautiful architecture, striking narrow streets and if visiting Malaga at Easter you could even see one of Spain’s famous religious festivals.

City breaks are a brilliant way of escaping your normal life and seeing a little bit more of the world, but sometimes they can be a little stressful, when you are faced with the hustle and bustle that so many destinations seem to have.

But it doesn’t always have to be like this. In fact, by choosing Malaga holidays you are choosing a relaxed and laid back place for your city break. And if you need convincing of the tranquillity of the city, take a wander through the quaint streets of San Agustin and La Juderia to really experience the laid back atmosphere.

Malaga Holidays

As well as being gifted when it comes to beaches, Malaga can also boast a rich history as well as plenty of culture. It is well known for being the birth place of artist Pablo Picasso, but that’s not all. The cultural improvements that the city has seen recently have been vast. The city has been working towards becoming the European culture capital in 2016 and as a result, the city as well as people on holidays in Malaga have really benefitted.

Malaga is a lively destination and one of the most popular spots to visit on the Costa del Sol. Sadly though, a lot of people simply pass it by. They land at Malaga airport and then whizz off to one of the other resorts on the Costa del Sol. But by doing this, tourists and visitors to the area are missing a vibrant city which boasts an excellent mix of old and new.

Malaga Attractions

Most tourists choose holidays to Malaga for one thing and one thing only: the beaches. And it’s true, that there are some beautiful beaches to choose from. Perfectly complementing the pretty city, the beaches of Playa Caleta and La Malagueta are only short walks from the centre. These beaches are always clean and are great for sun bathing or even indulging in a few water sports.

The Plaza de la Merced is an area packed full of museums and churches to keep you busy all day. Malaga’s collection of museums is really impressive with around 20 packed into the city; one of the most popular being the Picasso Museum.

Malaga is a vibrant city and it really comes alive during the many festivals that happen there. Feria de Agosto, Carnaval de Malaga and the Fiesta Mayor de Verdiales are just some of the popular festivals that take place here and they all boast music, colour, dancing and excitement. These are a great way to get into the Malaga spirit during your holidays in Malaga.

With such easy going locals who always seem ready to have a good time, it is no surprise that the nightlife in Malaga is extremely lively. The locals certainly know how to party and they will give you a warm welcome if you want to join them.

Malaga Weather

With 330 days of sun every year, it’s easy to see why so many people choose holidays in Malaga. Temperatures in the mid summer months usually hover around 25 degrees and the temperatures even remain mild in the winter too. There is often a cool breeze coming from the sea to keep temperatures manageable and visitors are glad to hear that rain is fairly rare with only 50 days in the year seeing any precipitation.
