Our booking engine uses standard technology to collect information about how it is used by individual computers connected to the internet.

This information is gathered through "Cookies". Cookies are small files of letters and numbers that we put on your computer's hard drive. These small files allow us to distinguish you from other users of our booking engine, monitor website traffic and to personalise the content of the site for you. This ultimately helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse our booking engine and allows us to improve our engine going forward. Please note that Cookies cannot retrieve any personal data from your hard drive or pass on computer viruses.

What Cookies Do We Use on Our Booking Engine?

There are many different types of Cookies. Those set by us are called 'First-Party Cookies'. Those set by our partners and suppliers are called 'Third-Party Cookies'. These enable visitors to our booking engine to see and interact with content such as videos and advertising provided to us by other companies. The same Cookies can also help us with website analytics.

The main Cookies we use are described below:

Essential Cookies

These are essential for the operation of key features of our booking engine, including our pricing basket to allow you to complete your purchase. These Cookies don't gather any information about you that could be used for marketing or remember where you have been elsewhere on the internet. Essential Cookies will identify if you have provided your email address, but have not successfully made your purchase. At that stage, we will let you know by email to check if we can assist further with your purchase.

Performance/functionality cookies

These cookies enable the display of features such as maps and videos.

Analytical/Performance Cookies

These allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors to our booking engine, see where visitors have come to the site from (including if a visitor has clicked on one of our adverts on a partner website, or one of our marketing emails) and the pages they visited, and to monitor how visitors navigate and use the booking engine. We use this information to compile reports and to help us improve the way our booking engine works (e.g. by ensuring users are finding what they are looking for more easily) and to determine the success of a marketing campaign. These Cookies do not collect any information that could identify you. All the information collected is anonymous and is only used to help us improve how our booking engine works.

One of the analytics tools that our booking engine uses is Google Analytics. To learn more about Google Analytics, you can visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. Our booking engine also uses Universal Analytics (also known as "User ID"), which is part of the Google Analytics service. Universal Analytics is a cookie which enables us to analyse users visits to our site across multiple devices to understand how a user browses and books flights or holidays. For example, if you click through one of our marketing emails on your phone and then click through the same email on your laptop - this would count you as one user, rather than two. This Cookie will only collect anonymous data, but if you book travel arrangements, it may associate the use with your account. No personal information will be transmitted to Google which could enable Google to identify you.

Advertising Cookies

These are Cookies used by: Social network sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), which may use information about your visit to target advertising to you on their websites. Third Party Cookies such as these are set by a domain other than the one being visited by the user. Third-party suppliers and/or advertisers, carefully selected by us, who may use information on your visit so that they can present you with adverts that you may be interested in.

For further information about different types of Cookies please visit:

How do we serve targeted advertising?

Third parties may serve cookies on your computer or mobile device to serve advertising through our booking engine. These companies may use information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services that you may be interested in. They may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements. This can be accomplished by them using cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services of potential interest to you. The information collected through this process does not enable us or them to identify your name, contact details or other personally identifying details unless you choose to provide these.

How Can You Control or Delete the Cookies Used on Our Booking Engine?
