Things not to miss in Sorrento

Basilica of Sant’ Antonino was built around the year 1000 and has since been restored and rebuilt. Inside, you can see parts of an ancient majolica tiled floor. There are also some important paintings including the works of Giovan battista Lama and Giacomo del Po.

Sorrento Cathedral is a pretty building which plays host to local art and also boasts a grand bell tower.

Shopping on Sorrento holidays is an unusual experience. You will be impressed with the incredibly fair prices of things but even if you don’t buy; the experience is not one to miss. The quaint and charming cobbled streets make for a scenic and pleasant window-shopping experience.

The old parts of Sorrento are really worth a visit. Within the ancient city walls, you can find monuments, churches and the remains of ancient civilisations.

Palazzo Correale is a 15th century villa and inside you can see art, china and glass as well as porcelain from the 17th to 19th centuries.

Sorrento boasts an old cheese factory which you can take a tour of. Here you will learn all about the process of cheese making right through to the finished product, which you are allowed to taste of course. Weather in Sorrento

Sorrento boasts a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers. The city enjoys sunny weather for around 250 days of the year and the most popular time for tourists to take their Sorrento holidays is during the months of July and August when the temperatures sometimes reach up to 30 degrees. For those who want to avoid the large tourist crowd as well as the hot heat, the months of May and October are pleasantly warm with temperatures getting up to around 22 degrees.
