These trips will normally take place at sunset or sunrise so you can see the desert in its most beautiful state. This is sure to be one of the highlights of your holidays.

3. Sharm el Sheikh is a great place to be able to see dolphins in their natural habitat. It’s a truly magical experience.

7. The sixth century Greek Orthodox Monastery of St Catherine lies at the foot of Mount Sinai and is a World Heritage Site popular with visitors.

Climate

Holidays to Sharm el Sheikh are for people who enjoy sizzling temperatures. In the summer months, the city can experience temperatures of up to 38 degrees while in the winter time, temperatures go up to around 23 degrees. Between June and September, there is no rain and the sun can be out for thirteen hours a day for some of this time. But in place of rain, there is always the chance of a sandstorm!

Sharm el Sheikh is a favourite spot for scuba divers as some of the sights to be seen here are remarkable. With fish, turtles and endangered mammals as well as coral reefs all lurking underneath the waters, diving in the Red Sea is a truly magical experience.

You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to shops in Sharm el Sheikh. The city is crammed full of jewellery stores, clothing, and gift and souvenir shops. But shopping here is a little more exciting than your standard trip to the shopping centre because here, you have to haggle. Haggling is all part of the experience and it is expected, particularly if you’re scouring the local markets for those bargain souvenirs.
