This unusually attractive hotel is shaped like the bow of an old galleon, curving out towards the sea and comprised of a number of single-storey bungalows in a luscious garden setting, connected by pathways. The hotel's sandy beachfront is one of its main draws and this is where most of the entertainments are based. The closest town is Santa Maria, just 1km away, where visitors can find a variety of colourful shops as well as restaurants, bars and cafés. FACILITIES: The main restaurant serves mostly American-style fare but there are also many local dishes on offer, and you can pick up light snacks and relax for drinks in the attractive bar lounge area of the hotel. The private beach offers a range of activities and there's also a seasonal outdoor swimming pool on-site with associated spa treatments. Head for the nightclub for a bit of dancing in the evening to loosen up, and take a drink to the relaxing lounge area next to the lobby before hitting the pillow.
